Kala Darpan proudly presents a talented young sarod player Shri. Pratik Shrivastava. He is known for crystal clear taans (melodic elaborations) and superb layakari (rhythmic interplay). He was inducted into the instrument’s rituals by his family, first learning from his grandfather Pandit Rabi Chakraborty and then his uncle Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty, both artists of the Maihar gharana. Today he receives advanced instruction from vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty as well as sarodia Pandit Tejendra Majumdar.
Pratik will be accompanied on Tabla by another young Tabla talent Shri Tejovrush Joshi. He has learnt tabla under the able tutelage of Late Pt. Bapusaheb Patwardhan of Farrukhabad gharana, a predecessor of the great Ustad Ahmedjaan Thirakhwa Khan Sahib. Tejovrush has rendered his tabla solo performances at many prestigious places all over India and abroad and has won many awards at the intercollegiate, state and national levels.

We are extremely happy to bring a talented vocalist of new generation - Shri. Gandhar Deshpande. He is an Indian Hindustani classical vocalist trained in the Gwalior, Jaipur, and Agra gharana traditions. He is the son and disciple of renowned vocalist Ram Deshpande and Archana Deshpande. He began his musical training at a very young age under his parents’ guidance. Gandhar has performed at prestigious classical music concerts and festivals across India. He is known for blending traditional raga-based singing with contemporary and fusion projects like Abhijit Pohankar’s Bollywood Gharana.
Gandhar will be accompanied on Table by Shri. Sanjay Deshpande, who has performed for Kala Darpan for multiple years. He is an accomplished Indian tabla player from Pune, trained under Pt. Suresh Talwalkar of the Delhi–Farukhabad gharana. Sanjay has accompanied leading Hindustani classical artists at major festivals in India and abroad and is also an active teacher of tabla.
Shri. Siddhesh Bicolikar is a distinguished Indian harmonium player and accompanist rooted in Hindustani classical music. He is disciple of Shri. Sharad Mathkar from Goa and the renowned harmonium maestro Pt. Tulsidas Borkar. He has received multiple prestigious music scholarships and accompanied leading vocalists and instrumentalists at major festivals and concerts.
